Mystery Incorporated Crew & Scooby Doo, too!

November 5, 2017

Is anyone else feeling the Halloween hangover effect? Like many holidays, you build up such anticipation for it, only for it to arrive and quickly come to an end.I start planning and thinking up ideas for Halloween, the minute it ends. I love coming up with our costumes! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I get a thrill from it!

This year did not disappoint. We went as the beloved long time cartoon & movie characters, of Scooby Doo! Even I joined in on the action… {who says Halloween is just for the kids?}

Happy Halloween 2017 from Velma, Daphne, Fred, Shaggy, and Scooby Doo!

Living in Minnesota, we never quite know what the weather will be like. If we are ‘lucky’ we’ll get a cool night of 40-50 degrees. Most though, end up below 40, like this year. The one thing I dislike about it being so cold, is the fact that we have to bundle up, which often takes away from the costumes.

Nevertheless, we pulled ourselves together like true Minnesotans do, and armed ourselves with coats and gloves, dressed in layers if we could, and headed out. I honestly thought my kiddos were only going to last for a half hour, or so. To my surprise, they kept on chugging along, without complaints! {I was the one who actually was begging for them to be done, ha!}

I decided that we should switch things up this year, and try a different neighborhood to trick-or-treat in. Boy, was that ever my best idea! The neighborhood was all lit up! Nearly every house had their light on, and they were even decked out with decorations, and music, too! One lady stood in her driveway by her campfire, dressed as a witch, dancing to her Halloween music. The kids had to all dance to receive their candy. {Talk about creative and fun!} I instantly thought to myself, we need more people like her! She knows how to have a good time.

Our trick-or-treating excursion lasted for two in a half hours, before I finally said it quits. I’m glad I did too, because we ended up with a PACKED grocery bag full of candy, literally bursting at its seams! I think we’ll have candy clear into next Halloween!

Until next year… 🎃

    What a fun theme! It’s my fave thing when my kids can all coordinate together!
